Reviews & reputation
Who can review whom, how long you have to edit, and how display-name changes interact with your history.
Who can leave a review?
Only the buyer of a completed sale, and only on that sale. Reviews are tied 1:1 to a Sale row — there's no general "Joe is a nice guy" review, every star has a specific transaction behind it. Sellers don't review buyers.
The review form unlocks the moment your card or PayPal clears (state: Paid). You don't have to wait for delivery to leave one — but obviously most buyers wait until the plant arrives.
Can I edit a review after submitting?
Yes — for 3 weeks after you submit. The order page shows an "Edit review (revisable until …)" collapsible with the existing rating + text pre-filled. After 3 weeks the form closes and the review is locked in.
If you spot the package late or the seller went above-and-beyond right at the edge of the window, edit then — most marketplace revisions happen exactly there.
Where do I find a review I left?
Go to My bids → Won, click the order, scroll to "Your review." Within the 3-week window you'll see the edit form; past it, just the read-only display with a "Window closed on …" note.
My review disappeared. Why?
Two possibilities:
- Display-name change. Once a seller has any reviews, renaming their display name hides every review they've received (the new name has no history) and locks renames for 30 days. The review still exists — moderators see it, the author sees it — it just doesn't count toward the seller's public rating.
- Moderator hide. A Trevul moderator can hide reviews that violate content rules. You'll see "Moderated" on your own order page view; the public profile won't show it.
What's on the public seller profile?
Visit /sellers/<username>/ for any seller. You'll
see:
- Their plant-tier level (icon + name)
- Number of completed transactions
- Aggregate star rating (only counts visible — non-hidden — reviews)
- The most recent visible reviews
- Active listings
Can I delete a review I left?
Within the 3-week edit window you can change the rating and text freely. Past that, reviews can't be deleted by the author — if you believe one was a mistake, email support@trevul.com.
