Fees & credits

Exactly what Trevul charges sellers, and how Spotlight points work.

What does Trevul charge?

Trevul takes a 10% Final Value Fee (FVF) on the winning bid amount (or Buy It Now price), with a $1.00 minimum. The fee comes out of the buyer's payment at capture and the rest routes straight to the seller's payout balance — sellers see the fee broken out on every Sale row in their Transactions page.

Shipping is not part of the fee base. The shipping amount the buyer pays passes through to the seller untouched.

Example: a $40 winning bid with $7 shipping. Trevul fee = $4 (10% of $40). Seller proceeds = $40 − $4 + $7 = $43.

What's the reserve fee?

Charged at publish time when you list an item: 3% of the reserve price, minimum $0.50, capped at $80. It's a slot-holder fee that pays for the listing's presence on Trevul, independent of whether it sells.

Non-refundable except inside the 15-minute publish-grace cancel window (see Selling 101). Listings without a reserve still pay the $0.50 minimum.

What's Spotlight and what does it cost?

Spotlight is optional paid placement at the top of the listings page. Tip $1 to $500 when you publish; higher tips rank higher in the Spotlight strip, with older tips at the same amount winning ties. Charged on top of the reserve fee at the same publish moment. Non-refundable outside the 15-minute grace window.

What are Spotlight points?

A reward you earn by climbing the plant-tier levels (see Levels & points for the ladder and per-tier amounts). Points aren't cash — they can't be withdrawn or transferred, and each point covers $1 toward boosting a listing for paid placement. When you boost a listing, points apply first — only the remainder hits your card. If your point balance covers the full boost, no card charge fires at all.

Do Spotlight points expire?

No. Points sit on your account permanently. They don't transfer between accounts and they're not redeemable for cash — they're usable only against Spotlight boosts on your own listings.

Where do I see my balance + transaction history?

Spotlight point balance: the row under the plant-tier progress meter on your Dashboard.

Per-sale FVF + payout breakdowns: your Transactions page, with date-range CSV export available for tax filing if you're granted that access.

What about partner rates?

Verified business sellers (the PARTNER badge users) can get reduced FVF rates and other negotiated terms via case-by-case agreements with the Trevul team — reach out to support@trevul.com if that's a fit for your business.
